While working at Home Front Communications, we partnered with PBS/WETA and Ken Burns to help promote and build an online community for his new documentary about the history of cancer research. Our team worked to research and design a highly unique experience for the movie, which included research and strategy development, information architecture, user experience, content creation and design.
The scope of the full project went far beyond the marketing website to also include a cancer community story wall, history of cancer treatment interactive timeline, film blog, multimedia library, overviews of each episode and more. In order to help set the tone and bring the experience of the film to life online, the homepage featured video segments from the film playing slowly in the background.
